The heads of state members of the CSTO discussed their plans concerning their joint struggle against threats to global and regional security and also crucial issues with respect to the organisation’s development.

In Vladimir Putin’s opinion the forthcoming 15th anniversary of the CSTO represents an important stage in further strengthening the coalition’s security system.
At the session the decision was made to transfer the presidency of the CSTO Council for Collective Security to the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko.
Following the summit the heads of CSTO member states adopted a Joint Declaration designed to increase the organisation’s military ability to respond to modern threats and challenges.
