The greeting reads, in particular:
“This ambitious and important event brings together politicians, academics, teachers and people from various countries who work in Russian-speaking media – all people who hold dear the concept of a ‘Russian world’ and a ‘Russian voice’.
It is noteworthy that your forum is taking place during the Year of Russian Language, a language of interethnic communication, the common heritage of many peoples, and a genuine depository of humankind’s great cultural achievements. And for that reason efforts made by our compatriots to support, preserve and improve the status of the Russian language – and especially in countries and regions where the Russian diaspora is significant – command a great deal of respect and our sincere gratitude.
I am confident that the work done at the conference, the proposals and ideas put forward by the various participants, will contribute to the spiritual and cultural enrichment of Russia and the countries in which our compatriots reside.”
