Mr Bordyuzha briefed the President on preparations for the upcoming CSTO summit on June 14, noting in particular that the legal documents have been drawn up for establishing the Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CRRF). The decision to establish the force was taken at the CSTO summit on February 4, 2009.
The force will be used to counter military aggression, carry out special operations to fight international terrorism and extremism, trans-border crime and drugs trafficking, and also carry out disaster relief work.
The CSTO member countries are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
