The message reads, in part:
“MGIMO alumni have yet again demonstrated the unity of their several thousand strong international family, loyalty to the spirit of student fraternity and their sincere desire to make their contribution to strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between nations.
It is not by chance that the current meeting is held in Yerevan. This year marks 200 years since the creation of the Lazarev Institute of Oriental Languages, MGIMO’s predecessor in training experts in oriental studies. This institute has by right become a symbol of scientific, cultural, intellectual and spiritual ties between Russia and Armenia, while its founders, the philanthropic Lazarev family, have left a positive imprint in the histories of our two countries.
I would like to sincerely thank President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and all our Armenian colleagues for their invaluable help in organising the forum.”
