The Federal Law regulates relations pertaining to the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, including their certification, state registration, flight permits, ensuring flight and air safety, and the search and rescue of unmanned aerial vehicles in distress or those that met with an accident. It also regulates the use of super-light unmanned aerial vehicles weighing less than 115 kilogrammes in civil aviation.
The Federal Law establishes that unmanned aerial vehicles imported into Russia or produced in Russia shall be registered following a procedure established by the Russian Federation Government.
The Federal Law also adds an article to the Air Code covering the rights of a commander of an unmanned aerial vehicle.
