The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in narrow format was attended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
They discussed the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council’s performance in 2016, its further development and the main macroeconomic priorities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states for the next few years.
A package of documents was signed following the meeting, including a decision to grant the status of EAEU observer state to Moldova.
Vladimir Putin also had a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organisation summit meetings in Bishkek. He met, in particular, with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev.
