The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in narrow format was attended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev Atambayev Almazbek Atambayev Almazbek , President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko Lukashenko Alexander Lukashenko AlexanderPresident of Belarus , President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev Nazarbayev Nursultan Nazarbayev Nursultan and President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan Sargsyan Serzh Sargsyan Serzh .

They discussed the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council’s performance in 2016, its further development and the main macroeconomic priorities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states for the next few years.

A package of documents was signed following the meeting, including a decision to grant the status of EAEU observer state to Moldova.

Vladimir Putin also had a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organisation summit meetings in Bishkek. He met, in particular, with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon Rahmon Emomali Rahmon EmomaliPresident of Tajikistan and President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev.
