The Federal Law allows the President of the Russian Federation to determine, for humanitarian purposes, various categories of foreign citizens and stateless persons who can become citizens of the Russian Federation in line with a simplified procedure.
The Federal Law allows participants in the state programme for the voluntary resettlement of compatriots living abroad to the Russian Federation who have been granted temporary or permanent residence permit to apply for Russian citizenship using the simplified procedure
Additionally, the Federal Law specifies the relevant powers of a federal agency monitoring and overseeing immigration issues and its territorial divisions.
