Alexander Beglov informed Vladimir Putin about several initiatives being implemented by the city of St Petersburg, in particular, social support for people, new public polyclinics and transport as well as optimisation of housing and utilities rates.
The discussion also touched on the development of tourism, including the introduction of electronic visas. According to the Acting Governor, last year St Petersburg welcomed 8.2 million tourists. The expected growth this year is 10 percent.
Alexander Beglov also spoke about preparations for celebrating the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and thanked the President for the funds allocated from the Presidential Reserve Fund to rebuild the exhibit space in the Museum of the Defence and Siege of Leningrad.
