Accompanied by Novgorod Region Governor Andrei Nikitin and Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University Rector Yury Borovikov, the President toured an exhibition on the technical school’s laboratories.
The President was updated, in particular, on the seamless engineer training model, distributed technological process control systems and integrated data management systems. Furthermore, he was apprised of the programme to create AI-based software for analysing field data and a drilling rig electric motor as part of import substitution, a system for automated diagnosing of the technical condition of overhead lines using drones, UAVs with a thermal imager for reconnaissance and searching for people lost in the woods, as well as the production of power outlet equipment, data collection and transmission, and creating anatomy models for training doctors and medical students and developing their practical skills.
The tour was led by the faculty and students from Yaroslav the Wise University, as well as staff from resident companies at the “Smart Electronics – Valdai” Advanced Research and Technology Centre (ARTC).
The Novgorod Technical School is being created as part of the Smart Electronics – Valdai ARTC infrastructure, a project that is part of the Novgorod Region electronics industry’s development strategy. One of the school’s key missions is training and the advanced training of staff for high-tech Russian companies. Schoolchildren, university students, university graduates and specialists are undergoing training at this education institution.
