The message reads, in part:
“Cooperation within this authoritative multilateral organisation is particularly needed in the current challenging period for the global energy sector. There are serious problems and difficulties caused by disruptions in established transport and logistics chains, escalating conflicts in many areas of hydrocarbon production, and the threat of terrorist attacks on energy infrastructure.
We believe that strict adherence to the principles of fair competition, as well as reliable protection of the legitimate interests of gas exporters, on a non-discriminatory basis and without any unlawful unilateral barriers or restrictions, must remain an indispensable condition for the stable functioning of the international energy market.
The partnership between GECF members to promote the comprehensive upgrading of the gas industry is designed to ensure the highest level of environmental safety throughout the production, processing and transportation of natural gas, as well as to guarantee universal access to this affordable and sustainable source of energy.
I believe that during the summit, you will engage in constructive, meaningful discussions and outline new, promising forms and mechanisms of joint work.”
