“To discuss priority objectives for the development of the domestic tourism industry, this forum has brought together representatives from relevant ministries and agencies, major tourism, insurance, and consulting companies, as well as members of the expert community and media from across Russian regions.
I would like to note that Russia’s educational, excursion, and spa tourism sectors have a rich history spanning centuries. It is gratifying to see that today, due in large part to the fruitful and creative work of the Russian Union of the Travel Industry, these valuable traditions are being carefully preserved and strengthened. We are now seeing significant results: modern hotels, cafes, and restaurants are being built, new jobs are being created, and conditions are being fostered for entrepreneurial growth in the hospitality, construction, and transport sectors. Much is also being done to revive and support folk crafts, restore cultural heritage sites, improve the quality and accessibility of tourism services, and train qualified personnel. As a result, the tourism industry itself is becoming a key driver in strengthening the infrastructural and socioeconomic potential of our cities, towns, and entire regions.
I am confident that your congress will be conducted in a businesslike and creative atmosphere, launching meaningful and much-needed projects and initiatives that will further advance a competitive tourism market in Russia.”
