The meeting took place ahead of Volunteer Day marked in Russia on December 5.
During the meeting, volunteers informed the President about their charitable initiatives, which span diverse fields including medicine, sports, and tourism, as well as providing support to participants in the special military operation.
As per tradition, the President joined the New Year Tree of Wishes nationwide campaign. He picked three baubles with cards with New Year’s wishes from children in difficult life circumstances: Timur Ryasnoi, 5, from the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra wishes to become a traffic police officer for a day; Varvara Smakhtina, 9, from Moscow wishes to meet a Roscosmos cosmonaut; and Igor Stepanenko, 7, from the Moscow Region, wishes to visit the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad.
The New Year Tree of Wishes campaign has been held since 2018. It was organised by the Federal Agency for Youth and the Movement of the First national children’s and youth movement.
