After congratulating participants and guests at the opening ceremony, Igor Levitin read out greetings from Vladimir Putin. “The modern bridge, which meets leading standards in safety, reliability and environmental sustainability, will create greater convenience for the city’s residents, connect the Baikal and Yenisei federal motorways, and allow the region to reach a new level of economic development,” the message of greetings reads.
Other participants in the event included Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Nikolai Rogozhkin, Governor of Krasnoyarsk Territory Viktor Tolokonsky, Head of the Federal Road Agency Roman Starovoit, and representatives from construction and public organisations.
The new facility is an important step towards implementing a large-scale project to prepare for the 29th World Winter Universiade, to be held in Krasnoyarsk in 2019, and will allow for the creation of the shortest transport links between the Universiade’s athletic facilities.
