The main mission of the exposition is to demonstrate the latest industrial achievements and developments. Russia is one of the four candidates to host World Expo 2025. Leading experts from various spheres met at the Presidential Executive Office to discuss ideas for Russia’s bid.
Presidential Adviser German Klimenko said in his opening remarks that hosting an event of this scale offers an opportunity to demonstrate the best achievements and discoveries, as well as, most importantly, the people who have a direct relation to them.
The Russian theme for the exhibition is Changing the World: Innovations and Better Life for Future Generations. If Russia wins the Expo 2025 bid, the exhibition will be held in Yekaterinburg, a major research city with a developed infrastructure for promoting innovation and start-up businesses. Yekaterinburg has hosted several international events, such as a BRICS summit, a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State and the INNOPROM exhibition.
The meeting participants also discussed preparations for a major design event, a hackathon, to be held in Moscow on December 2–3 as part of preparations for World Expo 2025.
Winning projects in 11 categories will receive financial assistance for their implementation and will be also presented at Expo 2025. The categories include neural interface and artificial intelligence. The hackathon is open for software developers, designers, architects, design engineers and project managers from across the globe who are over 14 years of age.
