On May 15, Mr Magomedov took part in the opening of the 26th Russian Student Spring National Festival, where he delivered greetings from the President. This year, the opening ceremony brought around 2,000 people from various Russian regions together in Stavropol.
Other officials at the ceremony included, among others, Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov, Head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Head of Karachayevo-Circassia Rashid Temrezov, Head of North Ossetia-Alania Vyacheslav Bitarov, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Alexander Bugayev, and Chairman of the Russian Union of Youth Pavel Krasnorutsky.
On May 16, Mr Magomedov led a seminar meeting on the implementation of the National State Policy Strategy through to 2025 in the North Caucasus Federal District.
Mr Magomedov briefed his audience on the work at the federal level to improve the state national policy, drew attention to the state of ethnic relations in the regions, and emphasised the need for an exact execution of the relevant Presidential instructions.
He urged the representatives of the regional governments to avert, where possible, any ethnic and religious conflicts, to carefully build their work in municipalities, to strengthen their liaison with public and religious associations, especially given the sensitive situation in the region connected to illegal armed group fighters returning to the region from Syria and Iraq.
The seminar meeting was attended by Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Andrei Galaktionov, Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov, representatives of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs, regional authorities of the North Caucasus Federal District and experts.
At the end of the meeting, recommendations and decisions were adopted to further enhance the effectiveness of the implementation of the state national policy in the North Caucasus.
During his trip to the Stavropol Territory, Mr Magomedov also held a working meeting with the region’s Governor Vladimir Vladimirov, and visited a number of industrial and social facilities in the region.
