Taking part in the meeting were heads of federal and regional state agencies, as well as representatives of state corporations, organisations in the aerospace and transport sectors, and public and professional aviation associations.
The participants reviewed the Transport Ministry’s draft concept for the safe and effective integration of unmanned aircraft systems and general-purpose aviation (light-engine aviation) into the Russian Federation’s single air space. The document is called on to define the system, main goals, stages, organisation and procedure of such integration, as well as to stipulate flight safety measures and the joint use of air space by unmanned and manned aircraft.
The Commission members submitted a number of proposals to improve the draft concept and noted the need for amending and approving this document as soon as possible, for the purpose of facilitating the intensive growth of the domestic market of the large-scale commercial use of unmanned aircraft systems, and eliminating regulatory, technological and infrastructural barriers that hamper its development.
They also discussed the implementation of the Commission’s decisions.
