At Dmitry Medvedev's meeting with United Russia party members in the Southern Federal District a wide range of issues were discussed. These include improving the investment climate, developing agriculture, establishing a system of mobile medical centres, Russia's demographic situation, the fight against drug abuse, renovating dilapidated housing, developing mortgage markets, and expanding regional support programmes for the Great Patriotic War veterans.
At the United Russia party congress of September 24, 2011, the current President accepted the offer to head United Russia's party list in the State Duma election on December 4, 2011.
