Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexii II led the service ‘For the Start of a Good Work’, blessed the new head of state in his service of the nation and addressed to him words of counsel and good wishes.
The Patriarch presented Mr Medvedev with a blessed icon of the Vladimir Mother of God.
