“Today a number of new developments that facilitate business have taken place in Russia's economy – the greeting reads. And your meeting provides additional convincing evidence of the growing interest of foreign partners in strengthening direct contacts and implementing joint, mutually beneficial projects. This is proof of the region’s key role as a bridge that builds and strengthens political, economic, cultural and educational ties between Europe and Asia.
The Russian Far East has huge attractivity for investors and vast development resources. There are promising opportunities to expand interregional and cross-border cooperation and attract additional investments to key sectors of the national economy. The successful implementation of the region’s vast natural potential largely depends on finding an effective solution to Russia’s long-term development challenges and its competitiveness.
I hope that the suggestions and recommendations developed during the forum will be met by real demand and will deepen the cooperation relations with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.”
The Far Eastern International Economic Forum is taking place from September 30th to October 1st in Khabarovsk. This is the third such forum. Earlier forums were held in 2005 and 2007.
