Esmeralda, based on Victor Hugo’s novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame, was performed by the Kremlin Ballet Theatre. The score by Cesare Pugni and Riccardo Drigo was performed by the New Russia State Symphonic Orchestra, whose artistic director and principal conductor is Yuri Bashmet.
