The summit’s main theme will be deepening regional cooperation within APEC at a time of continued instability in the global economy. The APEC leaders will discuss issues related to sustainable, long-term growth, prospects for further integration in the Asia-Pacific region, and liberalising the multilateral trade system.
The agenda proposed by Indonesia, which currently holds the APEC presidency, relates closely to the priorities set at last year’s APEC summit in Vladivostok and the recent G20 summit in St Petersburg.
Mr Putin plans to hold a number of bilateral meetings on the summit’s sidelines.
