The head of state noted the success of the group, stressing the leading role of Gazprom in the Russian economy, as well as the position of the company in the world market.
The President praised the company's social projects, in particular the programme for providing gas supplies to the entire country and the Gazprom for Children project.
Dmitry Medvedev became a member of the Board of Directors in 2000 and has been the Chairman of Gazprom's Board of Directors since 2002.
