Dmitry Medvedev and President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov discussed cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan on ensuring security in the Central Asian region and overcoming the world economic crisis.
The talks concluded with the signing of a Joint Communique on the results of the Russian President’s state visit to Uzbekistan, an intergovernmental agreement on conditions for the location and servicing of the two countries’ diplomatic missions, and a programme for cooperation between the two countries’ foreign ministries in 2009.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Karimov also held a joint press conference.
