The work carried out by the religious leaders of the Caucasus can help create the spiritual foundation that will help politicians deal with the tasks they face more effectively than they have managed to do so far. Mr Putin said it was a very good sign that the region’s religious leaders are taking part in helping to solve the problems the region faces today.
The President also approved the idea of setting up an inter-religious council.
Taking part in the meeting were Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II, Catholicos of Armenia Garegin II and the spiritual leader of the Caucasus Muslims Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pasha-zade.
