Mr Putin and Mr Zyazikov discussed the problems of refugees returning home from Ingushetia to Chechnya, as well as rebuilding efforts after the flood in Ingushetia.
Mr Zyazikov said there were over 90,000 Chechen refugees in Ingushetia. Nearly 27,000 voluntarily returned to Chechnya during the last 45 days.
President Putin also instructed Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, Minister of Economic Development and Trade German Gref, Presidential Envoy to the Southern Federal District Viktor Kazantsev to elaborate on the issues of providing state support to the economy of Ingushetia as part of the current federal programmes for 2003–2006 aimed at reducing the republic’s dependence on the federal budget.
