The President stressed that in the current situation, it is only possible to fight illegal trade of drugs collectively, using the entire arsenal of preventive, educational, medical and law-enforcement measures.
President Vladimir Putin said that among the priority tasks in this area are liquidating the financial base of the drug mafia and the extensive networks of drug trafficking. At the same time, it is necessary to create an accessible system of treatment and rehabilitation for people suffering from drug addiction.
Stopping the transit of drugs through the territory of Russia is a very important task. To achieve this, the President believes it is necessary to establish effective cooperation with partners from the Collective Security Treaty Organisation and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
