At a joint meeting in Kostroma of the presidiums of the State Council and the Culture and Art Council, Vladimir Putin stressed that the cultural heritage is an enormous resource no less important than gold, oil and gas.
It is necessary first of all to create a common cultural space and ensure equal access for citizens to the cultural values of the country.
The President appealed to pay particular attention to the development of cultural and educational tourism, which can help to create hotel and transport infrastructure, new workplaces, and good conditions for business based around cultural objects.
