“Your representative forum is another opportunity to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the lessons of World War II, to understand the historical experience of international interaction in the fight against Nazism. The Allies’ unification of political, economic and military capabilities became one of the decisive factors in the defeat of the aggressors.
In the 21st century, a priority task facing the global community is to display solidarity and unity to counter new global and regional threats, above all, terrorism. National legislative assemblies play an extremely important role in this.
I am confident that this conference will help produce specific recommendations on how to combat extremism, social, racial and religious intolerance. This will help to develop constructive inter-parliamentary dialogue.”
