In the not quite 15 years since diplomatic relations were established between Russia and Brunei the two countries have built up friendly relations.
Now there is a need to give the two countries’ regular political contacts a solid economic and legal foundation, President Vladimir Putin said following talks at the Kremlin with the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah.
Russia is ready to propose a number of promising investment projects in Siberia and the Far East.
Russian companies could take part in building facilities for the metallurgical industry in Brunei and also electricity production facilities, including facilities using renewable and non-traditional energy sources, Mr Putin said.
There are also good prospects for military-technical cooperation, expanding contacts in science, education and medicine and actively developing tourism.
