The message reads, in particular:
“For many centuries now Armenians have been an organic part of Russian society. Their works and destinies are written in the chronicles of the labours and military feats of Russia and the talents and achievements of outstanding sons and daughters of the Armenian people have rightly become a source of pride for our multiethnic country.
Now, in the twenty-first century, the Armenian community lovingly preserves its historical roots and cultural heritage and enriches the diversity of Russia’s modern life. The Union of Armenians of Russia plays an important part in this process. The union is active in helping to expand direct contacts between the citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia and in opening up broad perspectives for modern business and humanitarian projects.
I am convinced that we must build on these priceless traditions of friendship, trust and mutual assistance that historically bind our peoples. This is the guarantee of stability and harmony in Russia and is an essential condition for its successful future. I am sure that the proposals to emerge from the congress will help us work towards this objective.”
The President wished all the delegates and participants in the forum productive work, interesting discussions and new initiatives for the good of Russia.
