At a press conference following the Russia-EU summit in Sochi, Vladimir Putin emphasized that the decision to simplify visa procedures is the first step towards introducing a completely visa-free regime between Russia and the EU.

The agreement’s entry into force will act as a powerful stimulus for expanding cooperation in the cultural and educational spheres, as well as for teamwork and dialogue between scientists, artists, youth and students, the President noted.

The head of state expressed his confidence that the Sochi summit that just took place will help implement joint plans and develop the whole range of relations between Russia and the European Union.
