Mr Levitin informed the President that the investigation into the plane crash near Donetsk in Ukraine would be complete in October 2006, and the results would be announced.
The minister also reported on work carried out together with the Prosecutor-General’s Office and the law enforcement agencies to detect supplies of counterfeit products to the civil aviation sector.
Mr Levitin spoke about the results of meetings with the transport ministers of the European Union countries, plans to increase the number of border crossing points and action to improve the quality of their work.
The Transport Ministry has also submitted proposals to the Government on reforming the way the roads sector is managed and on ensuring safety in the civil aviation sector.
