In his opening address, Mr Putin enumerated the principal goals of the upcoming structural reform of railway transport—enhancing the effectiveness of railway transport and its state regulation, financial transparency and social protection of the personnel.
Railway Minister Nikolai Aksenenko, Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref, Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov and Ilya Yuzhanov, Minister for Anti-Monopoly Policy and Promotion of Private Enterprise, attended the State Council Presidium meeting.
