Speaking at the meeting, Mr Putin said that Russia’s policy of economic liberalisation would continue.
The President stressed the importance of infrastructure development for Russia’s economic growth and for boosting living standards and noted that preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi should be used to give the city a modern sports and tourism infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by representatives of prominent Russian and foreign companies.
Mr Putin also visited an exhibition of investment projects held as part of the International Investment Forum. The President looked at current and future projects presented by the country’s different regions.
The President began his visit with the Krasnodar Region stand, where members of the committee that prepared Sochi’s Olympic bid showed him models of the future Olympic village and some of the sports facilities.
Most of the projects presented by the different regions concerned infrastructure development. Some Russian and foreign companies also presented promising projects.
