The heads of state adopted a declaration in honour of the 15 th anniversary of the CSTO. The document mentions the main results of the organisation's efforts to ensure peace and stability in the zone it is responsible for as well as the priority areas of its future work.
In addition, participants signed another 20 documents referring to, among others, the normative and organisational makeup of the CSTO peacekeeping mechanisms, establishing a coordination council containing the heads of relevant agencies involved in the fight against illegal migration as well as a coordination council for extraordinary situations, formulating an agreement on creating a mechanism designed to provide military and technical assistance in the event that there is a threat of aggression, as well as developing a system for managing the forces and means the CSTO has at its disposal to ensure collective security.
Summit participants decided to hold the next CSTO summit in Moscow in conjunction with the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) summit.
Following the meeting, the heads of state gave a joint press conference on the CIS, EurAsEC and CSTO summits that took place in Dushanbe, October 5–6 2007.
