The programme was drawn up on the Council’s initiative and is currently being examined by the Government. The President noted the need to adopt the programme rapidly and make funds available for its implementation.

Mr Putin also said that instructions to the Government on modernising the technical and technology base of the science sector in general in Russia would be issued based on the Council meeting’s conclusions.
