The talks between President Vladimir Putin and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko took place at the Belarusian President’s residence.
After the talks, which lasted more than four hours, Mr Putin and Mr Lukashenko travelled in the same car to Victory Square, where they laid a wreath at the monument to the Soviet Army soldiers and partisans who died in the battles for the liberation of Belarus.
Mr Putin also visited VTB Bank’s new office in Minsk. The establishment of a subsidiary of VTB Bank in Belarus aims at consolidating Russian companies’ position on the Belarusian market and strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.
