Bilateral relations, especially investment cooperation, and the Kosovo issue were the main subjects on the agenda.
Mr Putin stressed the importance of this visit to Moscow by the Serbian leadership to develop relations between the two countries.
Following the talks, an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the oil and gas sector and a protocol on the conditions for Gazprom Neft Company’s acquisition of 51 percent of the shares in Serbian company Naftna Industrija Srbije were signed.
Mr Putin, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Mr Tadic and Mr Kostunica made press statements after the talks.
Mr Putin said that Serbia is now becoming one of the key transit hubs for Russian energy supplies to Europe. Regarding the Kosovo issue, Mr Putin said that Russia remains firmly opposed to any unilateral proclamation of Kosovo’s independence.
