The message reads, in part:
“The welcoming region of Crimea is once again holding this lively, large-scale artistic celebration. Your yearly festival certainly holds an important role in developing cultural and humanitarian ties between Russia and Ukraine.
Every year the informative, highly-charged programme of events attracts more and more people who care about the Russian language, who are genuinely interested in Russia’s history, who value its deeply rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
The festival hosts educational and scientific conferences, as well as musical and theatrical performances in a traditionally warm atmosphere. All these activities help to promote the Russian language, create new ideas and joint projects, and strengthen centuries-long traditions of friendship and mutual understanding between the Russian and Ukrainian peoples.
I am confident that this festival will become yet another colourful page in the social and cultural life of our countries.”
The international Great Russian World festival is being held June 6 through 12 in Crimea.
