The discussion focused on the peaceful settlement in Syria and the intra-Syrian talks taking place in Geneva. It was noted again that the withdrawal of a large part of the Russian troops from Syria largely helped create a positive atmosphere for a successful process of a political settlement.
The implementation of the Federal Targeted Programme for Developing Crimea was also discussed.
Taking part in the meeting were Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, and Russia’s plenipotentiary representative in the Contact Group on settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine Boris Gryzlov.
