The two presidents discussed the results of the Seventh International Meeting on Syria that was held in Astana on October 30–31. They noted the efficiency of the Astana format that is facilitating success in the fight against terrorist groups in Syria and helping to create prerequisites for the political settlement in that country.
The leaders also reviewed a number of practical aspects of cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union.
It was agreed to continue the exchange of views on urgent international issues and to further develop bilateral cooperation in various areas at the 14th Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum scheduled to take place in Chelyabinsk on November 9.
