The message reads, in part:
“Over the past years, your conferences have convincingly proved their worth and have become a respected venue for discussing current human rights problems and exchanging professional experience and the best national practices.
Today you will discuss a broad range of issues related to protecting the rights of young people, ensuring social support for young men and women and the accessibility of education, as well as expanding opportunities for self-realisation, employment and active involvement in political and social life.
I am confident that during this conference, which has brought together human rights ombudspersons, government officials, academic and expert community representatives from many countries, you will offer new modern approaches and mechanisms that will improve guarantees for young people’s rights, including through the development of the Youth Human Rights Movement and the establishment of youth councils under ombudspersons.”
