The message reads, in part:
”Your attention is focused on key, strategic topics: strengthening the institution of the family and patronage, protection of motherhood and childhood. These are the issues of primary importance for the development of our state that require close coordination of all levels of power, science, business, public and religious associations, and broad use of modern management and technological capabilities.
Today in a number of Western countries, traditional, fundamental family values are being blatantly destroyed, and there are statements that it is impossible to overcome the global social and demographic crisis. Russia chooses a different path, dictated by our traditions and principles, the millennial spiritual, cultural and humanistic heritage of mankind, namely, the creation of the conditions necessary for the preservation of the nation, achieving increase in birth rate and life expectancy, reducing mortality for the preservation and strengthening of our society's moral foundations.
I would like to point out that at the turn of the 20th century, the great Russian thinker Dmitry Mendeleyev actually formulated our fundamental national idea – an increase in Russian people. I am sure that his scientific and value-based legacy, as well as the legacy of our other outstanding patriots, will serve to improve national policy in the field of demography, while the initiatives and recommendations proposed by you will improve the effectiveness of measures to support families with children.“
