Together with Novgorod Region Governor Andrei Nikitin, the President toured the Vozvrashcheniye Centre and the regional branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland foundation located on the site.
The President was shown the living quarters for people with limited mobility and the rehabilitation equipment that the centre’s clients use, and was informed that the centre provides services in a one-stop-shop format.
During the visit, Vladimir Putin talked to the centre’s staff, to those from the special military operation and members of their families.
Defenders of the Fatherland, the State Fund to Support Participants of the Special Military Operation, was established on the initiative of the President of Russia who signed the relevant Executive Order on April 3, 2023. Its regional branches operate in every region of Russia, providing comprehensive support to veterans. The Vozvrashcheniye branch, which is part of the Novgorod Regional Centre Family, also provides medical, medicinal, social and psychological assistance to veterans of combat operations, including those with disabilities.
