The message reads, in part:
“Over the past years, your forum has become an important event in the country’s life, a large-scale, prestigious gathering with a broad representation and a relevant agenda. This year, the forum’s theme reflects the importance of tasks facing the state and society amidst the current challenges. In addition to discussing the preservation of history and culture of the peoples of Russia, you will also focus on the role of traditional values in developing spiritual and moral guidelines and strengthening interethnic accord.
Daghestan is hosting this year’s meeting. It has been home to various ethnicities since ancient times, as well as unique monuments of architecture that are objects of federal significance and UNESCO world heritage. The ancient Daghestani land is the motherland of courageous warriors, talented scientists, athletes, artists and writers. They include Rasul Gamzatov, an outstanding poet, writer and publicist whose 100th birthday is widely celebrated this year.
I am convinced that the forum will make a significant contribution to the preservation and augmentation of the cultural heritage of our Fatherland.”
