The leaders discussed in detail the difficult flood situation in the border regions of Russia and Kazakhstan, noting the close collaboration of relevant departments and services in the two countries that are jointly monitoring and forecasting the situation, developing and implementing coordinated response measures. The presidents agreed to step up these efforts.
Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev briefly discussed international and regional matters, particularly as regards Russia’s chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation.
The two leaders confirmed mutual commitment to further strengthen the alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan in a comprehensive manner.
