The message reads, in part:
“I would like to warmly congratulate you on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus. This holiday symbolises the unbreakable bond of fraternal friendship between our peoples, their shared historical destiny, spiritual and moral values.
During the 25-plus years of building the Union State, it became possible to accomplish a lot for developing Russian-Belarusian ties and continuing mutually beneficial integration processes. It would be no exaggeration to say that the results of these efforts are felt in all spheres of our life. Russian and Belarusian citizens enjoy equal rights in the spheres of medicine and education, social and pension support and in choosing their place of residence and work. Productive trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as contacts between parliaments, regions and cities, continue to expand.
In the face of a difficult international situation, joint actions of Russian and Belarusian sides help strengthen the defence potential of the Union State and guarantee its reliable security. We consistently uphold our legitimate foreign policy interests and cooperate with foreign partners to forge a more equitable and multipolar world order.
On May 9, we will celebrate a landmark date, the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Preserving the memory of the feat of the generation of victors, undoubtedly, strengthens our common resolve to counter any manifestations of neo-Nazism and contribute to ensuring global peace and security in every possible way.
I am confident that constructive Russian-Belarusian relations will continue to develop actively across the board. This fully meets the interests of our fraternal nations.”
