President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Mr President, colleagues, it is a great pleasure to see you again.
I remember how you and the Supreme Leader, Mr Khamenei, gave me such a warm reception in Tehran. We have travelled a long way since then in developing our bilateral relations. Our friendly ties are growing stronger and it is pleasing to see that they cover a wide range of areas.
This is true of our economic ties, our political contacts in all areas, and our humanitarian ties.
I think that we can thank Mr Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, for organising this meeting, which gives us the chance to discuss in trilateral format our bilateral relations and the situation in the region.
