President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev: Mr President, colleagues,
I am glad we had this meeting today, which was not just a protocol event on the sidelines of the summit. It had a very serious and important agenda: our two countries are about to sign a document, a partnership agreement, which will consolidate the successful development of Russian-Chilean relations we have witnessed in recent years.
I am very pleased about this event and hope that the implementation of this document will contribute to further expansion of friendly economic, political and humanitarian ties between our states.
President of Chile Sebastian Pinera: (retranslated): Mr President,
This is without a doubt an exceptionally important event: the signing of a strategic Partnership Agreement between the Russian Federation and Chile, which will bring us closer to realising our enormous potential for expanding trade and investment, implementing projects of mutual interest, cooperating in the sphere of renewable energy, science, education and technology. These are vital issues that will raise the living standards of the people of the Russian Federation and the people of Chile.
